If one of your teeth is cracked, discolored, chipped or recently root canaled, your local dentist might recommend a dental crown. Traditionally, when a crown is determined to be necessary, there is a delayed or two-stage placement method. This requires two visits to the dentist with a waiting period in between.
However, there is another crown procedure where the crown is placed during your initial appointment. Known as the CEREC (which stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) process, your dentist can create your crown in-office and you leave with your new, permanent crown that day.
